Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and SUDO AUTOMATIONS PRIVATE LIMITED, a company incorporated in India (“Sudo”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating a Sudo account, pairing a Sudo device, or using the Sudo service through chat, voice, or WhatsApp, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Sudo.
2. The service
Sudo is a hosted AI assistant for households. It accepts requests over chat, voice, and WhatsApp, routes them through large-language-model providers, and may interact with third-party services that you have connected (such as Google Calendar). The service is provided as-is and may evolve over time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law. By using Sudo on behalf of a household that includes minors, you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of those minors.
4. Account
You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in credentials and any Sudo device paired to your account. You must promptly notify us at as@sudohomes.com of any unauthorised access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, harm other users, or compromise the service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Sudo to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- harass, defraud, or endanger any person;
- generate or distribute content that sexually exploits or endangers minors, incites violence, or contains malware;
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overwhelm, or interfere with the service or its underlying providers;
- circumvent rate limits, access controls, or content-safety filters;
- impersonate any person or entity.
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate this section, at our discretion.
6. Family members and end users
You may add other members of your household to your Sudo account. You confirm that you have authority to add them and to share their phone number and name with Sudo for the purpose of operating the assistant. You are responsible for what those members do with the service under your account.
7. Third-party services
When you connect a third-party service (for example, Google Calendar) or interact with Sudo via Twilio’s WhatsApp Business platform, you also become subject to that third party’s terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of third-party services.
8. AI output is not advice
Sudo’s responses are generated by large-language models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on Sudo for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or emergency decisions. Always verify important information before acting on it. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services directly.
9. Fees
The Sudo service is currently provided free of charge during early access. We may introduce paid tiers in the future; if we do, we will notify account holders in advance and you may decline by stopping use of the service.
10. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Sudo software, brand, and content we produce. You retain ownership of the content you submit to Sudo. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the service for you.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or freedom from defects. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Sudo, its directors, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) INR 1,000.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold harmless Sudo and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
14. Termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the service to you would expose Sudo or other users to material harm. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual-property rights, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service, subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you may have under applicable law.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
